Pick tabletop when the event explicitly assigns you a 6ft table and nothing else, when your budget is under $1,000 fully loaded, or when you travel solo to many small events and need a kit that fits in carry-on. Above that, scale up to an 8ft or 10ft display.
A tabletop display alone is fine; a tabletop display plus a printed table throw plus a 33-inch retractable banner stand is a complete event-in-a-bag for under $1,500. The retractable banner adds the vertical height that pure tabletop displays lack.
4ft or 6ft. 4ft leaves more table room for collateral; 6ft maximizes brand surface. Most exhibitors choose 6ft once they've done a few tabletop events.
